Legion of Mary Members participated in the March for Life; Marchers were not deterred by the forecast of a blizzard that was to blanket Washington DC on the day of the March. The March began with a Life Rally at the National Mall, after morning Mass at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. After Mass Legion of Mary members distributed Legion of Mary pamphlets to youths at the Shrine. Marchers were filled with zeal and resolve to protect the dignity of human life from conception to the end of natural life; arriving in front of the Supreme Court. Thanks be to God that moderate snowing started only after the march was over: we arrived back to Boston safely.

Legionaries do their weekly Apostolic Work with the conviction that Mary accompanies them in their work,
helping them show the Face of Christ to those served:
(youtubes of events attended for Legion Outreach shown after description of Legion weekly work.)
I. CONSOLATION:
Most Legionaries visit the sick in hospitals, in their homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, listening to them with empathy, participating in conversations with them when needed, giving them Holy Communion, assisting priests celebrating Mass, praying Holy Rosary, and singing hymns in nursing homes, and assisted living centers. Priests are informed when shut-ins need confession or when a nursing home resident is dying (Divine Mercy Chaplet is prayed at the bedside of the dying).
Wakes of deceased Priests, Members of Legion of Mary, Actives and Auxiliaries, and Parishioners are attended; with praying of the Holy Rosary with mourners, when mourners desire it, and funeral Mass is regularly attended. Visits to home of the Bereaved when desired, with praying of Holy Rosary for 9 days for the deceased and Bereaved. Auxiliary members pray daily prayers of Tessera (official prayers of Legion of Mary), for Legion of Mary: their prayers are extremely important for obtaining from the Lord strength and spiritual support of the Legion; thus together with prayers of Active members, they help sustain, strengthen, and extend Legion of Mary. Auxiliaries are visited once a year, invited to Senatus Annual Acies (renewal of promise to Mary in the Holy Spirit). Some Legionaries visited the UN for a conference on women's issues, with young adults of Pure in Heart, and distributed Hail Mary prayer cards and Miraculous Medals, recipients included Muslim women delegates. St Jude's Prayer cards were also distributed to Non-muslims.
Legion work for Senior Active Legionaries are: serving as greeters, Eucharistic ministers, Lectors, or wash altar linens, arrange flowers for the altars, or do some light cleaning in the Church, bring back lapsed Catholics, invite new people in the community to come into the church listening to the voice of Jesus: 'Come and see'.
II. PRESERVATION:
Some Legionaries give Bible study class, CCD, RCIA and Confirmation class; participate in book clubs in parishes and in homes, on lives of Saints, with praying of Holy Rosary. Some young adults of Pure in Heart who are also Legionaries give talks on theology of the Body based on the writings of Pope St. John Paul II. Chastity, Purity of body and soul, Marriage as a Sacrament of God's Love, Headship in families, are given in parishes, shrines. Family Rosary is promoted; some with training and expertise, give counseling on marriage. Some help students with homework; drive elderly and handicapped to Sunday Mass, giving needed help where possible, as a way of evangelizing by works of charity and mercy. Families with newly baptized children / babies are followed up and encouraged to attend Sunday Mass, register their children for CCD. Some give Bible study class with Catechesis in prisons; some Prison Praesidia have been set up. Families of prisoners had communicated that they also benefited from these spiritual works in the prisons, especially when the prisoner had finished his / her prison term and released. Spanish Legionaries like to do Posada, during Christmas, visiting parish communities, and singing Christmas carols; many Legionaries celebrate crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary in May; promote Stations of the Cross on the street during Lent; promote Vocations to the Priesthood by daily prayers for vocations to the Priesthood as the families circulate the Vocation Cross to be kept within one family at a time for a week. Book barrow is set up with distribution of Spiritual books /pamphlets /Rosary beads with Rosary instruction pamphlets, green or brown scapulas and Miraculous Medals and Legion books/pamphlets, Tessera and Legion literature. Each council organizes annual Acies to renew Legion promise of total Love and devotion to Mary; organizes Annual Retreat and Day of Recollection, Pilgrimages for continuous spiritual development of Legionaries.

III. CONVERSION:
1. DOOR TO DOOR VISITS:
Visits are made to new residents in the community; lapsed Catholics are invited back to Church. Spiritual books/pamphlets, prayer cards with holy pictures of Our Lord, the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, Holy Angels and Saints are distributed to the families, with Miraculous Medals, Rosary beads with Rosary prayer instruction pamphlet, sometimes with letters of invitation from pastors welcoming everyone back to Church. These door to door visits are sometimes organized as a parish event, called 'Day of Evangelization', visiting parish neighborhoods. Providence Comitium, Rhode Island, participate in these events 2-3x a year.
2. EVANGELIZATION/NEO-EVANGELIZATION ON STREET AND NEIGHBORHOOD:
Legionaries pray first asking for the Holy Spirit to guide them to the people the Holy Spirit wishes them to approach; then they go in pairs, engage strangers in ordinary conversation and end up saying: Thank you for your kindness to me; then say Jesus loves you very much (Jesus name is very powerful and will work on the soul; all we do is to sow whatever the Holy Spirit prompts): encourage them to talk to Jesus like you talk to your Loved Ones close to you, be it your parent / relative /or best friend; tell him all your problems because He is God; He loves you more than any human being can love you: He wants you to spend Heaven with Him; He died on the cross to help you go to Heaven; even if you are the only one on earth, He will come down to die for you on the Cross and bring you to heaven. He only wants to give you Love without end. There is no sin greater than God's mercy; this is how deeply He loves you. So tell Him everything you want to get off your conscience; open your heart to Him. He loves to listen to you and help you; there is no greater listener than Jesus; don't keep anything from Him; ask Him for His mercy, thank Him for your life, health and your family, all good things that has happened in your life. This is a brief summary of our approach to evangelization one on one, and how much we can communicate the Gospel/its principles, depends on the Holy Spirit who gives us discernment and prudence on how to begin and end for each individual. It is the Holy spirit who leads us to the people He wants us to help and proclaim Jesus. It is the Holy Spirit who gives us courage and love, to share Jesus by proclaiming Him, thus making His Love known.
Usually we encourage the person to sit in the Catholic Church and talk to Jesus; we also advise that when the person gets more comfortable confiding in Jesus in Church, we encourage them to join the Church in worship; there are so many good priests and good Catholics in the Church community who will welcome you and want to be your friend. It is very important to keep one's focus on Jesus. His Mother Mary, loves you very much like Jesus who loves very much. Ask Mary to pray for you to find Jesus. Without fail she will lead you to Jesus. Legionaries commend to God all those they have evangelized by remembering their faces and uniting their crosses with the passion, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus, praying for their conversion at Mass.
Other activities are praying Rosary near the vicinity of Planned Parenthood facilities, attending 'March for Life' in Washington DC, and locally in Boston, and participating in the annual National Rosary Rally Across America in October.
IV. ENTHRONEMENT OF THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS;ENTHRONEMENT OF THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY IN HOMES:
Legionaries promote this sacred practice in as many homes of Legionaries, Auxiliaries, and parishioners as possible. These enthronements deepen the Faith and promote the True conversion of Catholics, increasing their zeal in the Lord's mission in the salvation of souls and help extension and recruitment of new Legionaries.
V. EXTENSION / RECRUITMENT:
Legionaries get permission from the pastor to give talks on the Legion of Mary, after Mass; Legion table is set up for sign-up of new members after or during talk. These Recruitment Drives are also set up at parishes /parish school fairs, family fairs.
